Influenced by the romantic legend of an artist by the name of Bernardiono Luini and a widowed innkeeper who became his model for his sketches, the famous Amaretto liquor has quite a history. As a gift of Luini’s artwork, the widow presented him with a bottle of brandy with steeped apricot kernels.
